By David “The Diamond” Oswald
I know I’ve been away for a little while but with good reason…I’m in the process of launching a website that is just about finished up so look forward to an email from me later this week revealing the domain name! It will be a one stop shop for all your David Oswald needs including products, articles, blogs, mentorship programs, a media tab where you can see one of my recent speaking events, even an opportunity to listen to a real estate radio show with me as the host…everything you need to keep up with your favorite guru.
But as far as today’s topic is concerned: you’ve heard the expression about 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration referring to great ideas. So today I don’t want to bore you with some examination of that principle but I do want to comment on how so many people approach me with pretty strong ideas but they refuse to bring those ideas into existence. I’ve come up with the following reasons as to why that is:
1.       They believe their idea is so great that they can’t let the rest of the world know about it…yet!
What I mean by this is that some people have the thought in their mind that they have the next great idea that is going to set the world on fire. Hey, some of you may actually have that idea….but it has to be revealed, tested and marketed to see if it is the next big idea. It’s possible that you have the beginnings of a great idea but it needs that testing ground before you can see if it is or not. So go ahead and put it out there. (If it really is a great idea, it is probably detailed enough that only you have thought it through to the point of truly being able to manifest it)

2.       They don’t realize that it will take a team of people to bring it into existence
Very few great ideas have ever been created or brought into the world by the work of only one man. Yes, one person is often given credit as the ‘founder’ or ‘inventor’ but it is normally a team of individuals who made it happen. Remember, if you can’t have others see your vision and help you to act on it, you may want to start by becoming a stronger person of influence before reinventing the wheel.

3.       They get to a certain point and think they have done all they can
One thing that I’ve realized on my road to becoming a real estate guru is that your work is never done. What I mean is that there are new ways being created to reach out to your audience and make a connection with them. If I just stopped at one way, such as reaching you with the printed word only, then I wouldn’t be able to relate to an entire audience out there that wants to receive information a different way. There is always a solution beyond what you might have imagined.

4.       They simply run out of energy
Let’s be honest, not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur. I’ll be the first to admit that it takes a lot of energy – not just physical, but mental energy – and you have to take responsibility for coming up with the next step in a process when oftentimes, that next step has not yet been revealed. So I understand those of you who have an idea but just don’t want to expend the energy. However, with great investment of energy often comes great reward. Consider that before you give up.

That’s all for now but look forward to that email regarding the website launch and keep pursuing whatever it might be that you’re looking to accomplish. As always, contact me at doswald@riversofincome.com to discuss any way we can work together. To those of you who have large lists of individuals to do teleconferences and market products, I’m open to discussing how we can work together right away. Signing off…create Rivers of Income in your life today!
